The Woodland Trainers Association provides safety training programs through member/instructors located throughout Alberta. Courses are offered in Chainsaw Operation and Proficiency and Feller Training.

Chainsaw courses are offered at 3 levels: 

Awareness - a one day course that covers safety considerations, basic saw maintenance and basic saw handling.

Basic - a two day course that covers all of the above plus some special situations, emergency response plans and basic bucking and limbing techniques.

Intermediate - a 3 day course which covers all of the above plus bolt and boring cuts, compression / tension cuts and felling technical training.

Train the Trainer - this 5 day course provides training to prepare new instructors to deliver our the three levels of chainsaw safety training listed above. This course is offered twice in each calendar year.
